Environmental review approved for the offshore project.
On Thursday, the Department of the Interior announced that progress had been made on a new offshore wind energy production project off the coast of North Carolina. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will conduct an environmental review of the project to better understand the impact of building the turbines in the ocean. If approved, the project will be the first of its kind in North Carolina.
Secretary Haaland said of the project, “Offshore wind is a critical component of this Administration’s commitment to confronting climate change, creating thousands of good-paying union jobs, and jump-starting our country’s transition to a cleaner energy future. These states are stepping up and working together to lift up this growing industry. At the Interior Department, we are doing our part to ensure all of these projects are done thoughtfully and with consideration of impacts to surrounding communities.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Haaland to seek God’s direction as she heads the Interior Department.
- For the Interior Department as they seek to reduce the nation’s air pollution.
- For the BOEM to conduct a thorough review of the new project.
